A Personal Message From Our Founder

For more than forty years, I have had the privilege of building businesses, developing new technologies, and working alongside remarkable people from many different walks of life. Much of that journey involved overcoming challenges, sometimes under extraordinarily difficult circumstances. But it also taught me something important: meaningful progress rarely comes from one person, one organization, or one idea. It comes from people working together toward a shared purpose.

My work in ocean energy, water security, and community infrastructure has taken me into places where communities face challenges that are both urgent and deeply personal. I have seen the enormous potential of innovation, but I have also learned that even the most promising technology means little unless it improves people's lives.

That belief is at the heart of The World Resilience Institute.

I founded the Institute with a simple ambition: to bring together people with the knowledge, experience, resources, and compassion to help communities become stronger, more self-reliant, and better prepared for the future.

We will not begin with predetermined answers. We will begin by listening, understanding each community's needs, and identifying practical, achievable solutions that can make a lasting difference.

I believe we should start modestly, demonstrate what is possible, learn from our successes and setbacks, and build from there. A relatively small project that genuinely changes lives can be the beginning of something extraordinary.

The World Resilience Institute is still early in its journey, which makes this moment so exciting. We have an opportunity to build something meaningful together, drawing upon the generosity, ingenuity, and experience of people who share our belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to live in a safe, secure, and resilient community.

I invite you to join us. Not simply as a donor or supporter, but as a partner in creating something that can make a difference for generations to come.
